MOAA New Chapter Member Recruitment Program 2013

MOAA New Chapter Member Recruitment Program

2013

* The Military Officers Association of America has implemented a new program that is intended to support Chapters with increasing their membership numbers.

* The Give Me 10 (GMT) efforts of the past several years has been discontinued effective January 2013. Although the GMT program was successful in raising the total number of MOAA members, it still did not address the lack of growth at the chapter level...this new effort is a means to reach out to the over 300K MOAA members who do not have a chapter affiliation.

Open and read the attached documents from MOAA that deal with the planning and implementation of the new Chapter Recruitment effort.

In addition to more fully describing the programs goals and means to reward increasing chapter membership (2013 Membership Program), there is also a description of the new membership levels and benefits (2013 New Membership Model).

Wounded Warrior Project briefed at New River Chapter Regular Meeting

July 17, 2012

* The members of the New River Chapter were host to the Wounded Warrior Project Outreach Coordinator, Jason Pratscher from Fayetteville, NC at the July 17, 2012 regular membership meeting.

* Pratscher - pictured here with 1st Vice President Charles Knapp, President Doug Ehrhardt and Secretary Treasurer Ken Lynn - spent almost two hours describing in detail the mission and purpose of the Wounded Warrior Project using both slides and a video presentation that chronicled four areas, e.g., mind, body, economic empowerment and engagement, that are stressed in order to raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of injured service members; to help injured servicemen and women aid and assist each other; and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the on-going needs of this group of America's heroes.

* Founded by veterans and friends moved by the stories of the first wounded service members returning from Afghanistan and Iraq, the Wounded Warrior Project provides comfort items and offers a complete range of rehabilitative programs to assist warriors as they recover and transition back to civilian life.

* Follow the below link to read the July 26, 2012 Jefferson Post article on Jason's visit to the New River Chapter's regular monthly membership meeting.
