* Members of the New River Chapter came out on May 7, 2016 to assist the annual New River Marathon that is held on the first Saturday in May. Our water station is always located at the entrance to the Skyland Waters development on Railroad Grade Road which is just 1.2 miles from the race start at the Riverside Restaurant.

* Even though we had "plenty of cups" ready (lower right), the route for the race was changed this year, so we saw both marathoners and half-marathoners within the first 30 to 60 minutes of the race start and then the 5K runners after about 90 minutes after we set up our station at 7:00 AM.
